Doug Schueths will guess this is Franz Schüth married to Elisabeth Kriner in the Haaren film # 1051653 appearing with his brother Johann's family about 1820's as age at marriage matches birth year.
His mother died at his age 10 in 1804

DWS feels this was FRANCISCUS or JOHANNES FRANCISCUS born 1827 of Martin Thiele married to Catharina Schmelter or Schmetter.
A Ferdinand Thiele was a sponsor to a child born to Johann Thiele and Catharina Schmelter. It was probably Ferdinand b 1815 was the sponsor.

DWS: Joseph and his family came to America 24 March 1883
They lived at Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania before homesteading in Antelope Co, Nebraska.
The homestead was about 7 miles southwest of Clearwater, Nebraska in Clearwater Township
This area is called St John's and is near the borders of 3 counties.
Deloit is the post office, St John's is the church and St Patrick is the cemetery all in Holt county. Though many of the nearby farms are in Antelope and Wheeler county. The far northeastern corner of Wheeler county is just to the south. St John's is often times declared as rural Clearwater. Clearwater is actually in Antelope county.

From article of unknown origin:
KALLHOFF - LITTON
"Joseph Frank Kallhoff and Anna (Litton) Kallhoff lived in Bochum, Westphalen, Germany. (Called Prussia at the time they left the country)
Discontent was evident in the European countries. Sons, Joseph and Wilhelm were young men, old enough to join the German forces. Younger sons were soon to follow. With regret, they left their beloved homeland and came to the new unknown land. In 1882, after a long trip by boat, they arrived in America. With Joseph and Anna came sons: Joseph, Wilhelm, Henry, Frank, Theodore, Herman, and daughters: Mary, Elizabeth, and Gertrude.
Their first home was in Mahoney City, Mohogan Co, Pennsylvania. Joseph F. was a shoe cobbler by trade. He and his older sons worked in the coal mines.
The oldest son, Joseph, became a naturalized citizen in 1888, Joseph joined the American army. No one heard from him after he left Pennsylvania. Some family members believe he went to Texas to live. Daughters, Mary and Elizabeth married and continued to live in Pennsylvania.
In 1884, Joseph and Anna, their daughter Gertrude, and sons, Wilhelm, Henry, Frank, Theodore, and Herman, came to Nebraska. Free land was available. Joseph and Anna applied for a homestead nine miles south and one-half mile east of Ewing, NE. The land consisted of 160 acres. The applicant lived on the land six years, paid $4.00 transfer fee and made improvements on the land.
Sons, Frank and Herman also homesteaded in the same area. Frank located four miles southeast of Ewing, Herman lived in the same community northwest of where St. Johns Church now stands. Wilhelm lived with his parents and walked east to the Gokie place to work.
Their homesteads were located in the eastern sandhill region. Crops depended on seasonal moisture. Strong winds damaged the sparse plants. Grass was cut and dried to feed cattle in the winter.
Joseph Kallhoff died in 1904. He is buried in St. Patricks Cemetery north of St. Johns Church.
After the death of her husband, Anna lived with her son, Herman. When Herman and wife, Antonia, moved to Dalton. Nebraska, Anna went with them. Anna was the first Catholic buried in the Dalton Cemetery. There is no marker on her grave."
dws note: There is a cemetery stone now that the family raised money for a gravestone for Anna.
**************************************************
Editors note: Anna (Johanna) was the first to be buried in the newly established St. Mary's Cemetery founded by her son Herman among others. The gravestone is in the SW corner of the cemetery per author (Doug W Schueths). I have pictures.

'Hello!!!!!!!!!
I am Bibiana Kallhoff (13) from Germany(Herten). I now something about my/our family. The roots of Kallhoff's family are going back to an old German farm in Nordrhein-Westfalen. It's name was Kalthoff. The German ,,hoff" means farm in English. ,,Kalt" means cold. One of the first maps of Nordrhein-Westfalen( Münsterland) shows the farm of Kalthoff in the year ca. 1690. When you want more information about our family, send me a E-mail, please!!!
Please tell me more about you and your family. I hope, that you send me back a mail!
LOVE BIBIANA'

"A Mrs Kallhoff was the first to be buried in the new Catholic
Cemetery at Dalton St. Mary's (Earlier known as St. Boniface) in August of
1908" buried in unmarked grave. As noted in "Cheyenne Co, Nebraska History"
Looking through NE State Historical Soc. lists of Cheyenne rural cemetery
records show nothing to affirm this.
DWS: Note. I have seen her gravestone and have pictures. She is buried in the Kallhoff plot next to her son Herman Kallhoff 1864-1930 and his wife Antonia 1870-1962. The plot is in the far sw corner of the St Mary's cemetery. Pictures are available from me.
****************
It appears Johanna joined her son Herman Kallhoff at Dalton which was still a brand new town after her husband died in Clearwater, Nebraska. Herman and his family may have homesteaded at Dalton (18 miles north of Sidney, Nebraska) as did several Clearwater area farmers. Joseph Thiele was also noted to be living at Dalton from news articles found by Doug W. Schueths looking for Kallhoff Obits.
It was also noted that H. Kallhoff was prominent in the new St. Mary's founding and new board.

DWS Was he on ship manifest with parents and other siblings when they arrived NY in 1883 ??
unless his name was shown as Heini Kollhoff age 22, on the manifest.
Perhaps age is recorded upon boarding the ship and he had a birthday enroute?
His mother had Kollhoff recorded while 2 lines above Joseph is shown as Kallhoff.
