Erhard Englisch

DWS: Probably born at Deutsch-haus, Austria (now Huzova, Czech Republic) old Sudetenland. He lived at Aberzhausen, Germany in 1975 and still there in Dec 1981 per his letters. He was driven out of the Sudetenland in the early 1940's. He did have an amputated foot.
In June of 1966 my uncle Fr Frederic and my grandfather Fred William Schindler traveled to Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic to visit relatives and Erhard was a guide for them. They visited the homeland birth places of Fred Schindler's father Ferdinand in Deutsch-haus, Austria (now Huzova, Czech Republic) and the birthplace of my Grandmother Lucy Tagel at Herzogsdorf Austria.
From letters on file it is found that this Erhard is Erhard Englisch and he has a brother Adelfa and a sister Lea. Lea lives in Dub, Czechi (Czech Republic) and is married to a Czech and thus was not forced to leave the Sudetenland after WW II. Lea has a daughter Milli who lived very near the Russian border in Czech Republic. Erhard has a wife Eva and 2 children Gerhard (born 18 June 1957) and Evelin

Says he moved to Oconto at 19 (1871-1872).
Obituary as Written out by a relative:
John P. Cain
It was sad news Tuesday afternoon to most of the old residents of Oconto when it was learned that John Cain had answered the last roll call. John Cain died shortly after 12 o'clock Tuesday at his home on Smith Avenue and this morning the funeral was held from St. Peter's Catholic Church. The officiating clergyman was Rev. Fr. Looze and interment was in the Catholic Cemetery.
Death was caused by a complication of diseases. Long a sufferer from rheumatism he was stricken with paralysis last July and had been failing since. Mr. Cain was almost 61 having been born in Nov. 1, 1857 in Chilton, WI. he has resided here since 1876, his wife to whom he had been married 43 years was Carrie Rose. Mrs. Cain survives with eight children, Harry, who lives in Milwaukee, Mrs. V. H.(Gertrude) John, Albert, and Mrs. Frank Roseau of Oconto, Milton is with the troops in France now.
Few faces were more familiar and few figures better known for years in Oconto than Johny Cain, he had a host of friends and had grown up with the city, he will be greatly missed.

Obituary from the Oconto Reporter March 7, 1918:
Pioneer of City Answers Call, John P. Cain Succumbed to Parlysis Tuesday
Wife and Eight Children Survive - Funeral Friday
