Mrs. Catherine Bettendorf, died on Saturday at her home in Clarion. She is the mother of Mrs. W Guite and Mrs. John Powers of this city. The remains were brought here for burial and taken to the home of her daughter Mrs. Guite. The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the Sacred Heart church."

" Funeral services for Daniel F. Herrley, a 26-year employee of the Metropolitan Utilities District, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 48th Street and Woolworth Avenue.
Herrley, 47, of 5575 Walnut St., died of a heart attack Monday at his home.
Born in Omaha, Herrley graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was a Vietnam veteran.
Herrley was director of residential marketing at the Metropolitan Utilities District.
He also was chairman of the Douglas County youth detention advisory committee. That committee did the groundwork on plans to remodel and enlarge the county's youth detention center. Voters approved $12 million in bonds Tuesday to build a new youth center.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew and Stephen; two daughters, Tricia and Nora; and his father, Dan F. Herrley Sr., all of Omaha; and two sisters, Frances Blecha of Pawnee City, Neb., and Margaret Zook of Omaha."
