"NORTH BEND - Martha HOMER, 93, of North Bend, died June 15, 2007.
Born Dec. 4, 1913 to Claus and Meta (Rabbass) Mahrt in Cedar Bluffs.
Marriage to Harold K. Homer on Feb. 7, 1933 at Trinity Lutheran Church
in Fremont. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, LeRoy
and Fred Homer; a sister, Edna Rohwer; a brother, Alfred Mahrt and a
great-grandson. Funeral services , June 19, 2007 at St. Peter Lutheran
Church in North Bend. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. "

"Martha Homer, 93, of North Bend died Friday, June 15, 2007, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.
Martha Mahrt was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Cedar Bluffs to Claus and Meta (Rabbass) Mahrt. Her family moved to North Bend in 1924, where she lived until her marriage. She married Harold K. Homer on Feb. 7, 1933, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont; he died Aug. 28, 1999. The couple farmed west of Morse Bluff until moving to North Bend in 1959. She worked at several restaurants and cafes and did baby sitting, baking, sewing and quilting.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend and a former member of Just Neighbors extension club of Saunders County. She received the Good Neighbor Award from Aksarben.
Survivors include: two daughters-in-law, Peggy Homer of Lompoc, Calif. and Elizabeth “Liz” Homer of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, a sister, a brother and a great-grandson.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend with the Rev. Carl Groh officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be made to the Morse Bluff/North Bend Veterans Memorial Park and Camp Moses Merrill."
