" Funeral Services for Merle Allemang, age 90 of Clearwater, will be 10:30 am, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater, with Pastor Daniel Feusse. Burial will be in Clearwater Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. April 2, 2015 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. He passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Neligh. Snider Memorial Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
Merle was born February 15, 1925 to William and Viola (Dean) Allemang on his maternal Grandparents farm at Brunswick NE. He grew up on various farms in the Clearwater-Orchard area and attended several country schools including District 88. After completing 1 ½ years at Clearwater High School due to the death of a baby sister he quit school to help his parents on the farm.
On February 9, 1944 he was united in marriage to Dorothy June Hauf and to this union two sons were born. Later they divorced and on June 20, 1954 he was united in marriage to Joan Darlene Klabenes at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater. To this union two sons and 3 daughters were born. He was baptized and confirmed November 12, 1944 in the Lutheran faith. He was a keeper of the land and was known for his love of the land and JD tractors; His favorite being the JD 70 tractors.
With the excepted of one year at Wausa, NE he farmed in Clearwater area all his life and with the help of the family the run a dairy for many years.
He was a lifelong member of the Concordia Lutheran church and served on a church committee one year. He also served as treasurer of the District 89 school board.
He is survived by his wife, Joan D Allemang, sons Merlin (Elaine) of Salida, CO, Bill of Escondido, CA, Jack (Karen) and Dan (Joyce) all of Clearwater. Vickie Steskal (special friend, John Krieger) of O'Neill NE, Vonnie (Joe) Brake of Hernando MS, Nancy Jo (Larry) Mosel of Orchard NE. 26 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren. Brother, Leon (Carolyn) Allemang of Fremont, NE and sister-in-law, Lucy Allemang of Neligh, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Voila (Dean) Allemang. Sisters and brothers Marilyn Schreiber, Hoell Ted, Donny, and Darlene in infancy. Son-in-law, John R Steskal, grandson Brandon Blum, and great grandson, Evan James Steskal."

" Alvis Kalvelage was born December 16, 1918 on a farm southeast of Elgin. He is the son of Frank and Anna Kalvelage and was raised with eight brothers and sisters. Jancie Mundschenk was born on September 8, 1931 southeast of Petersburg of Josephine Mundschenk. She lived with her grandparents, Frank and Anne Mundschenk, during her childhood. She had no brothers and sisters. Alvis and Janice were married on January 22, 1951. Their oldest son, Robert was born August 20, 1954. He married Kathy Christensen. Mary born on April 11, 1956 married Konrad Hofer. Steve, born April 24, 1960 married Dolly Arends. Carol, born November 11, 1967 married Gary P Thiele. In 1976, the family moved to Elgin."

ELGIN -- Services for Janice L. Kalvelage, 74, Elgin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church here with burial in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. wake, at the church. Huffman’s Brooks Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
She died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the Norfolk Veterans Home.
Janice Lorraine Kalvelage, daughter of Josephine Mundschenk, was born at Albion on Sept. 8, 1931. She grew to womanhood in the Albion area and attended rural school.
On Jan. 22, 1951, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Albion, she married Alvis J. Kalvelage. The couple made their home at Albion and in 1957 moved to a farm southeast of Elgin. Alvis lost a hand in a farm accident, and they moved into Elgin in 1976. He died in 1990, and Janice continued to live in Elgin until entering the Veterans Home in 2002.
Janice was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Mothers Society and the VFW Auxiliary, all at Elgin, and the DAV at Albion.
Survivors include three sons and spouses, Robert and Kathy of Brunswick, Steven of Austin, Texas, and James and Dolly of Albion; two daughters, Carol (Gary) Thiele of Norfolk and Mary (Konrad) Hofer of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Wesley Kalvelage, Kristopher Kalvelage, Jason Hofer, Mathew Kalvelage, Krystal Hofer, Amanda Hofer, Leanne Kalvelage and Alicia Kalvelage.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Music for the service will be by the St. Boniface Choir. The Rev. Dan Andrews will officiate.
