" ELGIN - Services for Paul H. Eischeid, 53, of Elgin will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church where there will be a 7:30 p.m. wake service. Huffman-Levander Funeral Home of Elgin is in charge of the arrangements.
He died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at his home northeast of Elgin.
Paul Henry Eischeid, son of Edward and Arlene (Heil) Eischeid, was born Feb. 6, 1954, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk. He was baptized and confirmed at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin.
Paul attended the St. Boniface Elementary School and graduated from Elgin Pope John Central Catholic High School in 1972. He worked at the Leo Dwyer Ranch during high school, and after graduation for Selting Inc. before starting to farm with his father.
On Sept. 21, 1991, Paul was united in marriage to Karen Spieker at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin.
Later, Paul worked for his brother-in-law at Spieker Foundations in Norfolk and then at the Tintern Retreat Center south of Oakdale until his death.
Paul was a member of the Elgin Young Men's Club, a past member of the St. Boniface school board and a past president of the St. Boniface Parish Council.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; children Chelsea, Jake and Zack, all at home; his mother, Arlene Eischeid of Elgin; brother Jim and wife LuAnn of Omaha; and sisters Marian Wehr and husband Doug of Lexington and Rita Kocian and husband Bob of Seward.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Edward Eischeid; his grandparents and brother-in-law James Kozicek.
Father Dan Andrews will officiate."
