" Mass of Christian Burial for Jesse Robert Peetz, age 28, of O’Neill will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 3rd, 2014, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill with burial in the O’Neill cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014, at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill, with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary. He passed away Sunday morning June 29th, 2014 at his home in Omaha. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Schools in O’Neill.
Jesse was delivered by his grandfather Dr. Dwaine J. Peetz at St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill, on October 9, 1985, to Forrest “Frosty” F. and Nancy M. (Ziegler) Peetz. He grew up in O’Neill and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 2004. He was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Marian Award in 2004. He attended Midland University in Fremont on a golf scholarship before transferring to UNL’s Golf Course Management in 2005. In late September 2005, he became ill with a virus and was rendered a ventilator dependent quadriplegic. After a series of hospitalizations, in the spring of 2006 he moved into an apartment in Omaha with his mom. With the help of family, friends, and home health care nurses, his mom was able to provide him loving care and maintenance for the last 8 years.
He loved his family and friends, playing golf, listening to music and watching movies.
He is survived by his Mother, Nancy Peetz, of Omaha, NE, Father, Forrest “Frosty” Peetz and wife Melanie, of O’Neill, NE, Grandparents, Bernice Ziegler of North Platte, NE, and Dr. Dwaine J. Peetz and wife Carmen T. of Neligh, NE, brothers and sisters; Robbe L. Peetz and husband Christopher Furches, of Omaha, NE, Jacob F. Peetz and wife Maggie, and their daughter Gianna (Jesse’s Goddaughter), of Ashburn, VA, Mary F. Tomjack and husband Jamie and their son Carson, of Chambers, NE, Amber Mathine and husband Benjamin, of O’Neill, NE, Braden Baseggio, of Gordon, NE, Carli Baseggio of O’Neill, NE, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred M. Bauman, James Bauman, Dr. Robert Ziegler, and cousin Todd Becker."
