'Henry Schmitz, came from Habbelrath, Germany, near Koln, before or during the Civil War. He was born 29 Jul 1836. He married Mary Wiesen in Freeport, Stephenson Co., IL 9 Apr 1871. Mary b.2 Dec 1856, Germany, dau of Joseph and Agnes (Berens) Wiesen. From Illinois they went to Iowa, in 1876, they moved to St. Charles twp.,Cuming Co. NE. They left there in 1883, moved to Buffalo Co. NE, near Prairie Center. Henry had a sister named Eva who m. Casper Thiesen.'
