James Michael McNamara

" 'Funeral services for James McNamara age 77 of Beemer, NE will be on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE. Private interment will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wisner, NE. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE. There will be a Vigil Service on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer is in charge of the arrangements.
Jim passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.
James Michael McNamara was born on September 5, 1937 at Beemer, NE to James and Lucille (Foy) McNamara. He attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #19, graduated from Guardian Angels High School in West Point in 1955, and attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Jim enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1957-1958 as a Paratrooper with Dingo Company of the 1st Airborne 502nd Infantry. After being honorably discharged he returned to Beemer to the family farm.
On June 6, 1961, he was united in marriage to Rosemarie Niewohner at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder, NE.
Jim was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, where he had served on the parish council and as trustee, played the organ, and sang in the choir. Jim loved teasing, playing cards, and having hotdog roasts with the grandchildren. He took great pride in working hard, his evergreen trees, and straight fences.'

Brother- Patrick McNamara of North Platte, NE
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law-Cathy McNamara."
