" Funeral services for Amanda Jo Ofe, age 36, of Neligh, will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Neligh United Methodist Church in Neligh.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.
Amanda died Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh.
Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Amanda Jo Ofe, daughter of Donald Bruce and Connie (Brittell) Ofe was born August 23, 1978, at Tilden. Mandy attended Elgin Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1996. She was blessed with two sons, Alex and Julien.
She graduated from Northeast Community College with a degree in business administration.
Mandy loved her job as customer sales and service representative at Farmers Pride in Neligh.
Some hobbies she enjoyed were reading and cooking; but her favorite things in the world, were her sons, Alex and Julien and their accomplishments. Mandy was a member of the Oakdale Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Alex and Julien; parents, Bruce and Connie Ofe of Oakdale; sister, Jenny (Adam) Cameron of Oakdale; nephews, Taven, Kaden and Jace of Oakdale; grandmothers, Shirley Ofe of Oakdale and Evalena Brittell of Neligh and soul mate, Clinton Linder of Neligh.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Bud and Leland."

ROY G. OFE
Roy G. OFE, 86, former mayor of Oakdale, died Sunday, March 7, at the Tilden Community Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10 at the United Methodist Church at Oakdale. The Rev. James A. STILLMAN officiated and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
Born January 30, 1890, at Madison, he was the son of Mr and Mrs Herman OFE. Educated in Oakdale schools, he married Mary Elizabeth Kelly April 18, 1912 at Albion. She died July 7, 1963.
June 26, 1964, he married Ella GRAVES at Grand Junction, Colorado. He farmed and ranched in Holt County near Atkinson for 12 years, then farmed in the Oakdale-Tilden area until retirement in 1951. He managed a pool hall and service station and was Oakdale’s mayor during the 1950’s.
Surviving are one son, Donald "Bud" OFE of Oakdale, five daughters, Mrs Otte (Esther) WILLIAMS of Omaha, Mrs William (Hazel) OBERMIRE of Atkinson, Mrs Alfred (Erma) SUHR of Elgin, Mrs Don (Betty) MAHANNAH of Yankton, South Dakota, 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs Dora JOHNSON of Tilden, Mrs Hattie COOPER of Neligh, and Mrs Alta PAULSON of California, eight step-children.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, three sisters and one brother."

Herman L. OFE
Herman L. Ofe, 83, passed away at his home early Friday morning. He had been in failing health for some time, his condition becoming serious the first of last week.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. Lowell Jones in charge. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Herman L. Ofe was born on June 5, 1866 in Ruehn Mecklenburg, Germany, and departed this life at his home in Oakdale at the age of eighty-three on September 9, 1949, after a lingering illness. When he was eleven he came to this country with his mother and an older brother. They settled at Kellogg, Iowa, where he grew to manhood.
He was united in marriage to Phoebe Ester Rorabaugh in Iowa in September 23, 1884. In 1885 they moved to Madison, Nebraska, where they resided until 1893 when they came to Antelope County. To this union six daughters were born. Mrs. Ofe passed away on October 22, 1904, and a daughter, Myrtie West, died on November 12, 1912.
Mr. Ofe married Mrs. Mary Hayes at Oakdale in 1912 and she also preceded him in death, passing away in 1934. He had been a member of the Oakdale Odd Fellows lodge for about forty years, was a member of the Oakdale Methodist church and had served on the school, village and cemetery boards. He lived the life of the Good Samaritan. Until advancing age and failing health made it impossible, he had always given freely of his time in helping others in times of sickness, and was especially helpful and devoted most of his time in this way during the flu epidemic of 1918.
He leaves to mourn his death five daughters, Mrs. Dora Johnson and Mrs. Hattie Cooper of Oakdale, Mrs. Hazel Hansen of Neligh, Mrs. Minta Nelson of Long Pine, and Mrs. Alta Paulson of Woodland, California; two sons, Roy Ofe of Oakdale and Ross Ofe of Chadron; one step-daughter, Alta Hayes of Wichita, Kansas; two step-sons, Homer Hayes of Wichita and Oliver Hayes of Pasadena, California; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and a host of friends."

MARY ALICE KELLY OFE
Mary Alice KELLY, wife of Herman L OFE, was born at Mountain Grove, Missouri, on September 16, 1874, and departed this life at Oakdale, Nebraska, Monday, July 23, 1934, at the age of fifty-nine years, nine months and twenty-seven days.
During her girlhood Mrs OFE united with the Baptist Church. In the late nineties she, with her family, came to Nebraska, locating at Tilden and had resided in this community ever since. Mr and Mrs OFE were united in marriage on October 24, 1912.
She leaves to mourn her, her husband, H. L. OFE, two sons, Oliver B HAYES of Pasadena, California, Homer Elmer HAYES of Oakdale, and one daughter, Alta E HAYES of Oakdale, also two grandchildren Enid and Charles HAYES, one sister, Mrs Jane ADAMS of Oakdale and seven stepchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Friday afternoon, Rev. FINK officiating. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery."
